الملخص

 Today, women are considered an effective and influential force in terms of their contribution to the labor force and construction, and today they constitute half of society. What befalls society in terms of development and backwardness leaves its positive and negative effects on women. Therefore, the research aims to know the reality of violence against women in the city of Al-Gharraf, and is there a spatial variation for this phenomenon, and to know the motives for the occurrence of violence in the city of Al-Gharraf, and the impact of economic and urban changes on its occurrence. The required results were obtained for (421) electronic questionnaires that came from the different regions and neighborhoods of the city of Al-Gharraf These data and results were analyzed by the statistical program (spss). Geographic Information Systems (GIs) were employed by cartographic representation of the spatial distribution patterns of the phenomenon under study. Through the research, it became clear that there is a discrepancy in the distribution of the abused population between the residential sectors of the city of Al-Gharraf, as the poor residential sector ranked first with its population of (41958) people, and the number of those exposed to violence was (271) according to what was revealed from the electronic questionnaire, while it was The least number of residential sectors is (good quality) In addition to the variation in other factors on the basis of population and housing characteristics, such as the age level of the wife and husband, the educational and professional level, and the applied regression between its residential sector, as well as the characteristics of the housing unit in the city of Al-Gharraf. The causes of this phenomenon also varied, and the economic motives had an important role in the occurrence of the phenomenon of violence and its variation between Research logic areas based on the residential neighborhood and sectoral classification.
